"Rnd 1: Ch4, work 11DC in 4th dc from ring. Join in top of
beginning ch3. (12dc)"

I believe this was listed as easy. As a re-learning crocheter I am concentrating on easy patterns.

I have now chained 4. Where is the double crochet I am supposed to work the 11 double crochets into?
"from ring" what ring?

What does the + and ++ mean in your pattern for the Bumpy Hotpad/Potholder mean? Thanks in advance for your answer. Sherri

Hi Sherri, the ++ means to repeat the instructions between the + once.

In round one, work the 11 double crochets in the 4th chain from the hook. The first 3 chains starting at the hook are counted as the first double crochet. The first chain becomes a "ring" that all the double crochets are worked into.

Thanks for clarifying that for me. I thought I had corrected this already, but I think it was another pattern I might have corrected instead of this one. With Christmas over, I can hopefully concentrate on correcting some of the mistakes.

I would love to print this patter but it would take 7 pages. Is there anyway it can be abreviated?

This looks great. I would also like the pdf version. I try to keep all of the patterns that I make so that I know how to do them again. Thanks so much. I love your designs!
