EASTER DUCKIE DISHCLOTH

H Hook & Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn in two colors: Egg & duck color.

Row 1: W/Egg color, Ch9 & sc in 2nd ch from hook & in next 7 chains, turn.   (8sc)  
Row 2: Ch1, Sc in each sc across, turn.  (8sc)
Row 3: Ch1, 2sc in 1st st, sc in 6sts, 2sc in last st, turn.  (10sc)
Row 4: Ch1, 2sc in 1st st, sc in 8sts, 2sc in last st, turn.  (12sc)
Row 5: Ch1, 2sc in 1st st, sc in 10sts, 2sc in last st, turn.  (14sc)
Row 6: Ch1, 2sc in 1st st, sc in 12sts, 2sc in last st, turn.  (16sc)
Row 7: Ch1, 2sc in 1st st, sc in 14sts, 2sc in last st, turn.  (18sc)
Row 8: Ch1, 2sc in 1st st, sc in 16sts, 2sc in last st, turn.  (20sc)
Row 9: Ch1, 2sc in 1st st, sc in 18sts, 2sc in last st, turn.  (22sc)
Rows 10-19: Ch1, Sc in each st across, turn.  (22sc)
Row 20: Working in Back loops, Ch1, sc in 1st st, sc in next st, skip-1, [4sc in next sc, sc in next 2sts]5x.  4sc in next st, skip-1, sc in last 2sts.  Fasten off. (38sc)
Row 21: With duck color & wrong side of work facing you, join yarn in unused front loop of row 19, ch1, sc in same st & in next 21sts, turn (22sc)
Rows 22-24: Ch1, Sc in each st across, turn.  (22sc)
Row 25: Ch1, Sc dec, sc in 18sts, sc dec, turn.  (20sc)
Row 26: Ch1, Sc dec, sc in 16sts, sc dec, turn.  (18sc)
Row 27: Ch1, Sc dec, sc in 14sts, sc dec, turn.  (16sc)
Row 28: Ch1, Sc dec, sc in 12sts, sc dec, turn.  (14sc)
Row 29: Ch1, Sc dec, sc in 10sts, sc dec, turn.  (12sc)
Row 30: Ch1,  Sc dec, sc in 8sts, sc dec, turn.  (10sc)
Row 31: Ch1, Sc dec, sc in 6sts, sc dec, turn.  (8sc)
Row 32: Ch1,  Sc dec, sc in 4sts, sc dec, turn.  (6sc)
Row 33: Ch1, Sc dec, sc in 2sts, sc dec, turn.  (4sc)
Row 34: Ch6, slst in same st.  [Sc in next st, ch6, slst in same sc]3x.  DO NOT TURN, If you want to sc around your entire dishcloth, see optional row below.  If not, just fasten off here.  
Row 35: Ch1, sc around your dishcloth, changing colors to match.  Once you get back to the begginning of row 34, slst into next st, and fasten off.  No st count here, just “eye” your sc around piece.  
You are welcome to add facial features to your chick if you want. You may need to iron your dishcloth.

I Love just Love all of your patterns. They are unique and just beautiful! I have a problem with this one though, I was expecting a duckie and got an egg!!! What happened??? Thanks for everything.

LOL Betty!! I was going to add facial features to the "duck" part at the top of the egg, but didn't get to it when I took the picture.
