Well today was busier than I wanted it to be, but the day went well.........AJ was checked by the school nurse when he went this morning and found NO bugs........thankfully. I finished up the laundry, well ok, I still have more to do but the main stuff got washed. I also sprayed again, just to be on the safe side.........

My mother is so happy, I went and got her a new cell phone.......she has had her old one for some years now, and it was not working right. So she is glad she doesn't have to use that anymore..........but now I have AJ wanting a cell phone too, which I think is too early! He doesn't seem to think so........tonight he was making a list for me of things we needed and stuff, and when asked why he was doing it, he told us that he was trying to be responsible, and not a lazy bum.......now I don't know where he got the idea of being a lazy bum, I have accused him of being too lazy playing games, but never called him a lazy bum.......LOL.......so I tried not to laugh at him, since he was trying...........but I told him no cell phone right now.........I think I will cave eventually, but I am going to hold out as long as I possibly can.......my mother is not helping, but telling him she thinks he should have one. LOL........

I have decided that I am steering clear of swaps for awhile.......I have much too many projects here at home I need to get started/finished..........so I will stay in the one monthly swap I am always in, but no more for now. I also have some ideas for new designs, one an amigurumi pattern, squares, and a few other things.

Well we are getting more cold temps again and maybe some more snow/rain mix later this week. UGH..........I love winter, but getting just a dusting is a waste to me.......

Anyway I will post some pictures of some things I have been working on tomorrow, but for now I am super tired!!!

Winter Olympics

I have been watching the Olympics since they started and the Free Dance in figure skating was just awesome tonight, all the couples did a great job! Canada took Gold, USA took Silver and Russia took Bronze...way to go!! I love the Olympics and the winter is my favorite.

AJ got sent home today with head lice...EWW.....I know.........not sure where he picked them up from, I have not seen him itching, but this morning he said he could not stop........so the school actually sent 3 bottles of the shampoo home with him, so we could do everyone's hair, this was super nice of them to do...........So I stripped all the beds, and started washing them in hot water...........got AJs hair done first and found a few while combing it.........I spent 40 minutes on his hair, his hair is long now....so had to make sure I didn't miss anything!! It went smoothly......next was little Aiden, who was super good for me doing it............he thought it was cool, he kept asking why it had to be done, and said because your brother had bugs in his hair, and Aiden responds with...'BUGS?"..........."why did he let them in his hair".........LOL....how cute huh? so I was combing his hair, and it was smooth sailing with him too, next was me, and it was not so smooth.......my hair is thin and long and really tangly with no conditioner, so it was not fun doing my hair........next was spraying all the furniture, beds, carpets, I didn't want to take any chances!!!

I finished the Zen Jacket and as soon as the ends are weaved in I will take a picture of it.

End of Week already?

The yarn I am using kept tangling and knotting up really bad last night.........I tried my darn hardest to untangle it finally got he scissors and cut cut cut, and man got so darn pissed in the process, I mean I was actually yelling at the yarn.........LOL pathetic I know. I even had to frog the jacket twice, and finally after having to frog a third time, threw it in the trash..........pulled out a bunch of rows and chucked it in the trash, luckily I had already taken out trash and nothing was in there...........so I calmed down, read an email about the pattern, and realized I kept messing up because I was not paying attention to the pattern!! reading the wrong instructions. LOL.....so got it corrected and now its smooth sailing, but I think from now on I am going to roll the yarn in a ball before using it.......it doesn't knot or tangle on me. at least not yet anyway. LOL When I worked on it some more earlier today, that ball of yarn did not tangle at all. Woohoo, I put it aside to finish a pattern I was testing for Allisha

Amigurumi Troll and Mushrooms, cute huh? I have a friend who wants this, as she loves the trolls and the mushrooms.

This is a Zen Jacket, well the starting of one.......it is a Crochet-a-long in a group, this is the first 10 rows, I started last night during the commercials of the Winter Olympics...I love watching them...........and did 6 more rows today........I like how it is turning out, but the pattern calls for an "I" hook which I hate using.......and I am using Caron Simply Soft yarn. Besides Scarves this is my first crochet "wearable" LOL

This is the other CAL I am doing, I had to add another strip since I goofed and put them in the wrong order. LOL I am going to be starting on another one in Pink Camo and Raspberry, have you guessed what this could be yet?

Anyway I am going to finish watching the Olympics and crochet during the commercials.

WIPS

I am starting on two afghans for the boys, both will be the same, but will be different in how they are laid out. Up top here is AJ's, the center of his is in soft navy and will have a light blue around it.....these are squares from HERE So far 6 months of squares are done with AJ's

This is Aiden's, I want to get AJ's center done before working on the outside, not sure what design square I will use for the outer edge though. I also have another afghan I am working on for Aiden. It is the one I need to replace in RWB.

I got this purse from Barb, for Member of the Month in my Ami group, and she used one of the Squares I designed for the flap of this purse, it is lined and oh so pretty!!!

This is a flower petal hotpad, I love it and it is really easy to make. This was for a Valentine swap.

I also made this love bug for a Valentine swap, this came out really cute, and I wanted to keep it, but had to mail it off.

Not Enough Snow

Well I am finally getting around to posting this video of Aiden playing catch with papa...they wanted me to come out and watch, so I took a video....Aiden loves to watch himself on video doing something......so I guess I need to take more videos, especially since my camera takes them with sound. LOL....he loves playing catch. He went out today to throw snowballs, but too darn cold to take a video, and they didn't last long out there anyway........the temps dropped throughout the day......we were suppose to get a really good snowfall, but I can still see the darn ugly, dead grass in my front yard, and that is just not enough snow for me. LOL........it did look pretty falling, but just not as much as the weather man said......they said 4" in some areas of our city......some areas??? How can some areas of our city get 4" and some barely any at all........and then even more areas of our city got 7" apparently I am living on the wrong side of the city! LOL They did cancel school though, and as much complaining as I am doing right now, it was good that they did, the temps and snow did cause some accidents, and the roads are still bad, they are urging residents to stay off of the streets tonight and even closed one area down because it was so bad. AJ is hoping tomorrow will be another snow day. I doubt, but would be nice if they would, since the streets are going to be just as bad with the temps falling into the single digits.

Time for an Update

Mr AJ playing his Trombone......he is pretty good at playing it, this is his second year. He is doing good in school, they had Friday off because we got a lot of snow........it was pretty and I had already made up my mind that if we did get the snow they were talking about, I would keep him home from school. Friday he had a friend come to have a sleepover, and I actually had to get out and drive in the snow, which I don't really like, there had already been two accidents right out in front of our house. Luckily nothing major though.

This was actually taken today, we tried to build a snowman, but the snow would not stick...so The boys had a snowball fight.........This is my little Aiden.

Now Saturday we went sledding........and it was a lot of fun, This is Aiden going down the hill, he would act like he was riding a horse!! LOL it was cute....he would come to a stop then pull that rope, going, "giddyup" LOL it was a blast.

Aiden and I coming down......we didn't flip that time, but on the smaller sled we had, we would flip over a couple of times, and that was a lot of fun, I made sure to hold on to Aiden, and we came up laughing.

On the crochet front, this is one of the Dragonfly scarves I desinged, this one is called, "The Warmth of Dragonflies" and I used a Caron Simply Soft in Soft pink and it came out gorgeous. I really love this color.....I am also making the other one I designed in the same color/yarn.

Pokemon Horsea I made

From Aprils Calendar ghan CAL this one is Novembers, "Mum's the Word" but looking at it and hers makes me think I goofed on it, but I am not going to redo it......

This one is called Decembers, Mistletoe, I made all 12 months in this light blue, and will put them together, then add more around them in a Soft Navy.......then I will do 12 more of her squares in a Soft Navy and do the outer edge in the light blue. These will be made for the boys. I will try to get busy with that this week. I am trying to avoid swaps and stuff, so I can concentrate on getting them done, and my dad is wanting an afghan as well.

Sluggish Monday

Saturday I took the boys to see, "Alvin and the Chipmunks", a very cute movie, it has been awhile since we took Aiden with us, the last time we tried to see a movie, he was just too talkative and fidgety, which he was younger, so was to be expected. Anyway he did good in this movie, he doesn't like all the previews you have to watch before the movie, but he liked the popcorn and candy he got.........we all loved the movie, it was too cute. We also had lunch before the movie, and after the movie I took AJ over to a friends. I had a talk with the mom about some things her very young daughter had been saying......I picked up AJ later that night, and after being harassed by this very young girl today.....I think I will just sever ties with this family. I don't need their drama.......LOL I have enough of my own. Sunday I took AJ and a couple of kids to the YMCA to go swimming, I didn't work out, since AJ just wanted me to swim. Had fun though.

I did this mermaid in thread for a lady in a group with me, she wanted this as a wish, so I made it for her and got it mailed today. This worked up super fast, I think it only took about an hour to make if that. I didn't want to part with her, but then I have that problem a lot with stuff. LOL

WOOHOO

Well Sunday is the last day of Christmas break!! WOOHOO can you say party time? LOL AJ is back to school, and hopefully I can get our days back to normal....although I want to see some changes, and I have to get busy making them happen.......I will not say the "R" word.......no no no.......you won't hear it from my lips, nor see it from my fingertips........I am just going to make the changes happen, without making a huge deal out of it.

I am glad that this night is coming to an end, I sure hope my Monday is better than Sunday was..........AJ had a friend over, then two more kids from across the street and things were fine for awhile, until AJ slammed open the bedroom door hitting my finger!! OUCH! Anyway I didn't start yelling until he started in with an attitude........and this was not the first time I had gotten this attitude from him........so I just went off on him, yelling and telling him I was sick of it......especially how it gets worse with his friends over........i told him that I hoped he was embarrassed, because now he would know how it felt for me when he gives me attitude to "show" off for his friends. I wish I had the AJ that everyone else sees.........I mean for the most part he is a good kid, but like all kids, he has his moments...and when I am already stressed out, those "moments" really boil me!!! Anyway from the time he could talk everyone has told me how polite he is, and how they enjoy his company........HELLO??? how come I can't get that kid 24/7??? That is not fair!! LOL. Anyway I made his friends go home early.......and he sat in his room stewing, and I in the living room crying..........yep crying........I felt so bad for yelling at him...........and even for doing it in front of his friends, but oh well, it's over with, and he ended up being nice the rest of the night, even though he is grounded until the middle of the week..........

Aiden is going to wake up with a black eye........I got his teeth brushed before bed, and told them to get into bed, and I would be in to tuck them in........well.........Aiden was not listening, and jumping on AJs futon...and fell off hitting his eye on the metal bar...........right on his eyelid........man it swelled up fast and turned a nasty shade of grey..........I just went to check on him and cover him up, he is always throwing his covers off at night.......he is fast asleep and even in the dark, I can see his swollen eye. :(

I really need to take a break from crochet, my hands are so sore.......I have been working on swap stuff, even though none are due until the end of this month.........and a couple not until February........but I want to stay ahead of myself so I can get busy on some afghans.

Finally here is Luigi, I did not like making him, nor do I like how he came out....the first time I did him, I ended up frogging him thinking I had done something wrong, but second time around, was the same.....Aiden loves him, and I guess that is all that matters, but I had to force myself to finish him, I felt bad, but just glad he is done.

Mr Aiden and me........he was so wanting to go play with his toys.

OK Aj looks a little out of it here, he always wears his glasses so low......he has long eyelashes and when the glasses are pulled up, he says they rub against his glasses and he can't stand that. LOL

I love this picture, they look so sweet.....notice that Aiden is holding AJs finger, which Aiden loves to do, I guess that is still his "lovey" LOL When AJ was little, it was our ears......figures I would have the odd ball kids........J/K I actually think it is really cute, I mean when you have to leave the house, you don't have to worry about forgetting to take their "lovey's" LOL

Hopefully I can get better pictures tomorrow on here along with more details about Christmas day.

Princess Aurora

Well here is Princess Aurora, done in thread......I had made her in WW yarn awhile back, but wanted to make her in thread too, so here she is, I started her last night and finished up her hair tonight. She stands about 4" tall.........it's funny, because she works up much faster for me in thread than in yarn. Anyway I think she is really cute.

I am upset with Toys R Us, they had advertised all day today how today only select toys were 50% off............so I decided to drive up there, now it's on the side of town that is extremely busy........lots of traffic and traffic accidents, it's a major headache going up this way.....but I did.........well I never saw any toy for 50% off..........the only areas I didn't venture into were baby strollers, and girl toys........but I went in EVERY aisle in there, and saw some signs that said 5 dollars off......buy 2 get one free.....but that was only on maybe 3 different kinds of toys........the only 50% off I saw was in the game department, BUT you had to buy a hand held game, such as a DS then get an accessory for 50% that was it!!!???? I heard a lot of people complaining about the high prices and how they felt disgusted that they wasted a trip up there..........I did end up getting some stuff for Aiden........but if I had bought just two of the things AJ wanted, they would have cost me 150 dollars, but at Target those very exact same two toys, cost me 80 dollars.....BIG DIFFERENCE.........another toy I saw at toys R us, was 99.99 I went and scanned it too, and I didn't get it, but at Target it was only 39.99......I still didn't get it, as it was not really something Aiden would have the patience for, but still, such a huge difference in price for the exact toy!! UGH!!

I am tired and sore still..and now I have a headache. Glad I am home and am hoping for a slower day tomorrow.

NO SNOW

Still no snow for us, and I am wondering about my sanity living in this place!! I am a snow girl, I WANT SNOW!!!! LOL Ok my little rant is over. We had upper 40s and 50s this past weekend, then today I wake up to 19 degree temps, and they fell throughout the day! I got up and Aiden really slept in, he was tired......but I had to run some errands, and so off he and I went, and found ourselves at Wal-Mart.........I never made it into the yarn department, I was so tired, and just wanted to get the coffee filters that we needed and get lunch and go home. I wore my flip flops and my feet got really cold, which they usually don't. This time of year always makes my "electricity" worse.......I mean I am getting shocked really bad, the hair on my arms stands up, my hair poofs out, and I am soo afraid to touch anything....the shocks really hurt and you can hear them, and see little flashes of light...........even in bed, I am afraid to touch my blankets.........it looks like I had a flashlight under them, you can hear the little shocks and see the "flash" and it scares me.......can a fire be started that way? Maybe this is just me having a little panic attack, but if you saw and heard it you would be freaked out too.......went to answer my phone awhile back and the amount of shocks and lights that came from that, man I threw my phone down it hurt so bad.........

Both boys are grounded from the game systems tomorrow.........AJ for not doing what I told him, and Aiden hiding things from me........I told him to go to bed, no games, no movies, no cartoons, bed time....well I went to check on them, and he must have heard me coming, he was in his brothers bed.........with both of his arms behind his back..........I said go to bed, he said ok.........I asked for what was behind his back and he hands me his DS, so he is grounded from it too...not a happy camper, but he didn't cry too much about it, just kept telling me to "be sorry" for him and let him play games tomorrow. LOL

I am tired, and my knees and back hurt, so I think I will be calling it a night soon, and hopefully get a good sleep.

Keeping Warm

Well I am designing again, this is just one of the scarves I did, this is not the first one I designed, this was the second..I actually did this one Sunday, started it anyway.........I finished it tonight, the pattern wrote up very quickly as most is just a repeat.......anyway this one is about 51/2" wide by about 50" long.......long enough for me.........I was running out of yarn, and this was Mainstay yarn which has been discontinued for some time now. Anyway I absolutely LOVE this.........it is gorgeous! Now for a name, I have come up with, "My Dragonflies" "The Center of a Dragonfly"........."Dragonfly Row" LOL the list goes on from there, but those three are the ones I am leaning towards.........the first one I started is called, "The Warmth of a Dragonfly" Or "Warmth of Dragonflies" haven't decided. LOL anyway that one needs some tweaking, it is too wide.......anyway, this will be for sale on my Etsy shop soon. Need to get it tested.

Wow has it been cold!! it we got some snow, but only a few spits, and that was it, more freezing rain than anything else, and that was just depressing, the weather changes I know!! but everytime the weather guy came on tv, it had changed!! how can weather change that fast that much? Are they even reading it right the first time? LOL I know I am just bummed, but still??!!

It's been a lazy day so far..........I told the boys that it would be family day, where a good portion will be spent together. LOL Anyway we will see how that goes.

I am finally getting my squares that I designed ready........I asked for a few more testers, since it had been awhile and also wanted to see if the corrections and changes were correct. I also got reminded by one of them of a scarf..........I was working one of my dragonfly squares, and thought it would be great to have a scarf with them, and Aiden helped with that, I had brought up the winter stuff a few months back to be washed and he came out with a scarf on..........so I drew some stuff up with many changes of how I wanted it to look and last night I dug out that paper and started on it........got the first 11 rows done, before I could barely keep my eyes open.......So will work some more on that today.

Other than that, laundry and chilli for dinner............about it.

Crochet Crochet Crochet

AJ wanted me to make Pokemon Mew for him...........so I did this one for him..........it came from HERE. Turned out adorable and worked up really fast. He loves it.....I had it done last night, but needed to get the felt for the eyes.....I usually don't sure felt, but he wanted it that way, and it was not as bad as I figured it would be........cutting out and using glue........It didn't look too bad.

I loved the Peanuts gang when I was little, and never outgrew it.........I remember getting lost in the books when I was little.........Anyway I thought I would finally get around to making Woodstock.......I used Size 10 thread, I started him tonight, and finished him tonight as well....I will eventually make snoopy to go with my Woodstock.

This is the Holiday package I made for Julie........she received it today, so I can post the picture.

Apples!!

I had my father peel and cut some apples, I didn't want them to spoil.......we didn't make an apple pie for Thanksgiving, because I had already made pumpkin and blueberry pies. So he did, and we had alot of apples......so I had enough to make apple pie and an Apple Crisp, which I absolutely love!! AJ helped me with both, he crinkled up the edges of the pie, and cut the slits.....he even indented happy faces, not sure they came out in the picture, but I thought that was cute. Anyway we just took out the apple crisp, and it smells so good. Will have that tonight with some cool whip. If you are feeling adventurous and want to create a different kind of apple pie, culinary classes at online universities should also be able to teach you the Top 10 apple pie recipes.

I started on AJ's Pokemon Mew today........got the head and body done.......will try to finish him up tonight.........I also want to start on Luigi for Aiden, and Woodstock from Charlie brown........I will do Woodstock in thread, he was my favorite character!!!

Well AJ is back to school tomorrow, and hopefully we can all get back on a better schedule.........I would like to say things will slow down, but then I remember that Christmas is right around the corner.

Whew!!!

Well Thanksgiving is over and I am glad............it was a busy and stressful day, I forgot to take pictures...........I had to make 3 trips for things I forgot!! UGH!!! Oh well, the day went well, and we had a great dinner. We also got our Christmas Decorations up too. Anyway AJ said he wanted me to make an angel for his librarian, he is a proctor and she had a birthday right before break........he chose a pattern, which is above, and he wanted it done in thread.....so I used a Size 5 pearl thread..........it came out tiny........very cute!! I made it last night, and I took a picture of it next to the one I made a few months back with a G hook and WW yarn.........I also used the red felt for the mouth. I will also make her a bookmark too. He will take it to her Monday. I think this was really sweet of him to want to do. Now his friend Fernando wants me to make him one for a girl he likes. LOL

I took the boys to Chuck E Cheeses Wednesday......this is AJ and I, I was able to snap this while he was getting more coins to play the games.

This is Aiden sitting on my lap playing Mario Cart, his feet didn't reach the petals, so I had to press the gas pedal for him while he drove.

Both Aiden and AJ on some sort of bike game.........they had a blast...........then off to walmart we went...........bought a package of pokemon cards for AJ and they were 10 bucks, and on our way home, he opened it and found only 1 card, someone had opened the packages and took the cards out. So we had to go back which was no fun.

Yesterday I spent about 4 hours on my couch, I was not feeling well at all.........my whole body felt very heavy............today I was ok but a pain in my lower left side of my stomach.........I think stress and not enough sleep. AJ has a friend sleeping over tonight, but hopefully they will have an early night...........LOL Wishful thinking?
