Hello Amigurumi Tiger anyone?

I did this a few weeks ago, this pattern is really cute, I was a bit worried about how they would look as the heads came out huge.....but they are super cute.......I made two at the same time, so I could keep one for myself and swap one. I love tigers and this was just really cute.

I am doing this Floral Hexagon motif for a crochet a long in a group......I was surprised by how big the motifs actually are, I am doing two for the living room. Will try to get better pictures as they progress.

I did this Suncatcher for a crochet a long in a group......I really liked how it came out and decided to mail it off to a friend for a swap. Now I don't have one. LOL

I hosted a game in a group and Jen won, and when I went looking for things she liked, I had noticed that she collected Patriotic things, so I knew this would be perfect, it is a Betsy Ross pin cushion, and came out cute. Worked up fast.
this is my little Aiden in the hospital last week, you can see how swollen his face is.......he never let go of his teddy bear!! He is still improving, although some of the side effects are just really aggravating to him.....his head is peeling, his scalp anyway, in some areas it is.......and his finger tips are peeling too, I have never seen that much skin come off.........he has another check up with blood work Thursday.

I just finished testing a very cute frog for a lady, and as soon as she posts I will a picture.

Home from Hospital

Well my little Aiden went to get some blood work Thursday, he was so limp that morning, he could not walk.........I had to carry him, and it was very hot and humid so I was sweating big time.......they tried one arm, could not get the blood to flow right, so they stopped, and we tried AGAIN for some urine, which 3rd try we got...then they tell me they didn't get enough blood and had to try with his other arm......it was hard on him and me both, he was crying asking me to make them stop, "don't let them do this to me, mommy" telling me he loved me so much, it just broke my heart, but I knew it needed to be done, but is hard to explain that to a 4 year old...........Anyway.........We went to his regular doctor, blood work came in, some of his levels were too high, some too low.......well..........doctor said he called an infectious disease specialist, by this time, his rash was mainly on his rear, groin area, and back and front chest/back..........his palms were bright red, his tongue was what they call a strawberry.......his whites of his eyes were red, and also he had a red circle that went all the way around his eyes........his face was swollen, the corners of his mouth and eyes were cracked, his groin/butt were peeling really bad.............and of course the very high temps, crankyness and limpness............they said it sounded like Kawasaki disease......which is an autoimmune disease and can damage the heart.....they did an echo cardiogram of his heart Tuesday..and it looks good, but damage can set in sometimes after treatment, in some cases a few years after the disease.......so with more specialist coming in, it was a certain that he did have the Kawasaki disease, and they started the medicine which is through his iv and took about 9 hours to completely run through his system........After a very rough few days, he was able to eat a bit and keep it down late last night and today. No fever, so he was able to go home today........I had not seen his smile so big in a long time, he was sooo excited. He has to take aspirin every day.......today and tomorrow he has to take 16 chewable aspirin........then Saturday and after one a day........he goes in for an echo cardiogram in 2 weeks, again in 8 weeks, again in about 6 months, and a year, and depending on what it shows, he will have to have one done every year or every 2-3 years.........he also has to go back for more blood work next week, and if his fever returns, he has to go back into the hospital for another round of the medicine.
Anyway we get a call from my mom before we left and she said the air was not working........well it is extremely hot and muggy here............upper 80s, with some really awful humidity. A guy from down the street is looking at it now.......he works for a company, everyone else was booked into next week, but I called every single one in the phone book until someone said tomorrow........I have it scheduled, but hopefully the guy here now can get it fixed. I can barely move in the house and I am dripping in sweat!
My little Aiden is asleep on the couch, he is still so worn out.

My Aiden is Sick

Aiden got really sick Thursday night, that afternoon he came home with a rash all over, like a huge welt.......so we took him in and they said viral rash, even though he did not have any symptons as of yet..but that night he did, 104. temp.....vomiting, frequent bathroom visits.......Friday he was sleeping or just laying around all day, I mean ALL day.....high fever as well...........Saturday he seemed a bit better, but kept running a high temp and feeling and looking like a zombie..........Sunday the same, but now he is complaining about his tummy hurting........his fevers are getting so high that his skin is peeling........like he has a sunburn.......the corners of his lips are raw, the corners of his eyes are raw........took him in today.........Dr did a strep test, and told me to wait, but then the office "calls" me saying it was negative, and I can leave, i said didn't the dr want to talk to me again......she was like, no, Aiden probably has a viral infection and you can go home now.........against my better judgement I did, but all the way home I was steaming mad.......this was not like their dr, so I got home, and Aiden fell asleep again........and his dr called very upset with his nurse for sending us home...........he is worried too, he didn't like the color of Aiden's tongue, or his eyes.........so tomorrow morning blood and urine work......then back to his office......just took Aiden's temp and it is 103.7.........gave him some motrin, and fluids.........which is hard to force a child to drink when they don't feel like it...........I am really worried, I hope this is just a virus.....but he has NEVER been this bad this long....I mean I know its been 4 days. but still.......high fever everyday, several times a day. I am mad at myself for not wanting to jump the gun and overreact, but with my kids I should not worry about that.

AJ is getting out of school Wednesday, he is happy to have the summer off.

Time for an Update.

Got this great shot of myself with my handsome boys.....it is rare to get a decent shot. LOL......I have been so busy this past weekend. Melody, a friend of mine found a place to live right across the street, and no one would help her move, so we did, but she said only one load, but that one load turned into several, I think Sunday we made 4 or 5 trips..........Monday turned into another rough day of trying to get some stuff........but today was spent relaxing at home.........Sunday was Mother's day, so my mom and I got our gifts Saturday night, and they were really great.........we loved them. Boys were super sweet. we got jewelry, and flowers too. Anyway......Monday we also got a very nasty storm, with a tornado that touched down on the west side of the city....luckily everyone was ok, and it quickly just turned into a severe storm...........but around 5 pm, it turned really dark outside, it was like it was 10 at night.......but by 6 the sun was shining bright again......LOL More storms might be coming our way.
Saturday my mom and I took the boys to the River Festival, and this was Aiden at the Bear Clinic run by one of our local hospitals, kids got to play dr to their bears.........LOL He was such a super cute doctor!!!! All the nurses sure thought so!!!!

Acorns in a bag........I did these tonight..........they are my crazy nuts, AJ and Aiden. LOL AJ just rolls his eyes at me, but Aiden kisses the nuts and says how much he really likes them.
Out of the bag!!!
Aiden got to meet Clifford and Author!!

I am starting Grandpa for my mom, and this is his head.........I have made one before, but not with the hook I am using now, which is a C hook, it cramps up my hands, so I am taking my time with him.........First time around I had an awful time doing the "dents" but second time around was actually a lot easier......I have one leg done, and will work on the second leg tomorrow maybe.........needed to take a break.

Windy AGAIN

This very cute Acorn is what I made tonight, as you can see the glue from the eyes still had not dried yet when I took the picture. LOL....anyway I saw this pattern a long time ago, and just had to have it.......I remember when AJ was in kindergarten, and it was around Fall, and we were outside waiting for the bus to come......well he picked up some acorns, and asked what they were, I told him a nut.......figured it would be easier for him to understand......well he waits awhile, and then holds them out to show me, and says, "Mom, look.......these are my lucky nuts!".....well I about fell down laughing.........I could not stop, and he of course didn't know why I thought it was sooooo funny, but it was also soooo cute too............I still tease him about it every so often, and he knew I was making this tonight.........he is sleeping, so he won't see it until tomorrow, but he did tell me that he didn't really want it.....I told him I wasn't making it for him, but for myself, to always remind me of that very cute and funny moment with him. I saw another pattern recently of two smaller ones with a bag.......which is actually more perfect as he took two of them back then and put them in a bag.....he collected rocks and I guess those two acorn.......oh excuse me, those lucky nuts.......
I also made these yesterday, my little bee and butterfly........I love butterflies and every since I made a bee for a swap, I fell in love with bees........cute little "fake" ones only though.

I had lunch with a friend today, and we sat and visited for awhile, she is house sitting over in this area, so we wanted to get together....she is trying to find a place to live, as she has been living with some people, and they are moving themselves.........we went and looked at a couple, but she hasn't made up her mind.

I also told AJ he was not going to have any friends sleep over this weekend......nor will he go have a sleep over, seems all this month he or a friend have been doing sleepovers, and frankly I want to have a nice, quiet evening tomorrow, I have missed my shows on Friday night from being so busy..........

Really Really Proud of my AJ

Above is an updated picture of one of the Afghans I am doing for the boys, but with color reversal......the one above will be for Aiden.....I am about done with the second border to AJs, but had to take a break today, I haven't really had much time for crocheting lately, but did manage to make a very cute bee tonight, and started a butterfly......but I am just too tired to finish........Had a few errands to run today........and since Aiden and I were out and near AJs school, we decided to pick him up..........well I am sooo super proud of him, he read more than the required books this year!!! So he will attend a function for that.....but..........BUT..........he will be attending an award ceremony for doing really well on his assessments........apparently he did a great job on them, and I can't be more proud of him!!!! I cried on our way home when he told me that........I worry so much sometimes......about school work for him, I know it is hard, and so much that the district wants them to learn...........and for him to tell me that he actually got great scores on them...........well that just makes me feel so proud.........and happy that he worked so hard!!!!

Aiden and I will make him a card tomorrow. I think Aiden will love that. I am hoping he wakes up feeling better, he got sick early this evening....

This was at the circus a couple of weeks ago, boys had a lot of fun there.
Mermaid I made last week............She came out cute I think. I haven't had much time to crochet over the past few days...........Today I had some friends over for a bbq and some games........was fun, but I am glad to be resting now...........ended up with a headache, which is finally going away..........I hope it stays away. LOL

AJ has about a month left of school then summer break........I am not sure I am looking forward to that so soon. LOL..

Proud of my AJ!! Communties in School

Well today was the day that AJ received the Star Award from Communities in School. Star stands for Student Triumph Awards Recognition. We had a lunch buffet first with our kids, then they received their awards, A local sportscaster from KWCH channel 12 news was there presenting the students for their awards. First was the Elementary students, then Middle school, and then high school......all these kids deserved these awards, there were two girls from High School, that both had a kid already, but stayed in school, improved greatly on attendance and grades and really stepped up to a better education, and I was proud of all of them.
All the kids with the CIS coordinators came down the stairs. You can see AJ in hte middle just about wearing white shirt. The staircase was just gorgeous.

This was as good as I could get with my cell phone, I had forgotten to grab my digital camera.....I could have kicked myself for forgetting it.

AJ with Crystal, she has been a super help to him, and I appreciate all she has done for AJ.

TIME FOR AN UPDATE?

My little Aiden holding a Bee I made, this bee was for am Amigurumi pattern of the month in my crochet group, and it came out cute, I decided to make it in thread. Aiden loved it, this is him giving the bee a kiss. I have really gotten to love bees.....crochet kind anyway. LOL
Weather has been so nice outside, AJ and Aiden took their pokemon's outside to "play" this was some of them "flowers" LOL

This was Friday at the doctors......Aiden has been itching his eyes and nose for a few weeks now, so dr got him in and prescribed some allergy meds for him, and he is ok with the medicine, but he does not like the eye drops, but just the couple of days on them, he is not itching as much. I went and got my hair cut Friday morning as well.......I like it enough.......I asked for a bob with long bangs, and she asked me about wanting layers, I said not really, I have some, but just want them trimmed up a bit so they can grow into the rest of my hair.......well she cut them really short......I think that is why I am not too thrilled, but I am not upset about it, it is cute when I fix it.

This was after I got home, it looked horrible when she was finished, she did not use conditioner which I told her I would pay the extra 3 dollars for, but she didn't use it.......so I got home, wet it and used the blow dryer on it, looked much better.

I had a birthday Saturday and will update more about that later, it was a super fun day.

This is a "Minnie loves Mickey" purse I did for a CAL in a google group I am in.....it came out cute, and worked up fast.

I made this small amigurumi lamb for a wish for a lady, who was giving it to a 6 month old, it came out really cute.

Mr Funky here was done for a swap, he came out big, but worked up fast, I got him done in a few hours, but of course the boys were not home either. LOL

Towel holder for another wish.
Pokemon Character, "Bayleef" done for AJ, he loved it.

Amigurumi and Warmer Days Lots of pics

Aiden informed me this afternoon that he wanted to go to a playhouse to have lunch and play..so I said yes, he usually won't go unless his brother is with us, but AJ was at school. Aiden is really into having his picture taken, you probably notice I post a lot of him alone and with myself......lately AJ is just not wanting his picture taken as much..hmm.......could it really be? Could he be "Getting to that age" LOL I was dreading that....but I try to get him as much as I can.......anyway Aiden loves to be goofy in pictures, I always have to tell him, "ok, mommy wants a smiley picture." LOL So this is us this afternoon

Picture is out of order here, but this was after AJ got home from school and down by the river, we all went out for ice cream, I skipped the ice cream though. Gotta love those sticky faces. LOL
This was the "smiley" picture I wanted and got. LOL
I think he asked for his picture to be taken a zillion and one times...........LOL
How sweet!!!
Got this taken when we went for ice cream. My handsome boys with my dad. "papa"
After doing Aiden's Pickachu........AJ wanted a Pokemon Shaymin......so I started that this morning, and finished him up tonight, surprisingly he worked up really fast.
I am not happy with how Pickachu came out, but Aiden insisted on having the eyes mouth, and nose done just like the pattern, except he did not want pink cheeks......LOL

I also made this the same day I did Aiden's Pickachu......I had gone to Hobby Lobby and picked up a Vanna White Amigurumi book of animals and Aiden wanted the lion..........I did this while watching NCIS. it is cute.

I haven't done much in the way of Easter Crochet, but I did this bunny in a couple of hours the other night, and was able to find a sunny green patch of grass to have her picture taken......she is done in Simple Soft Pink yarn, and has buttons for eyes, even added a purple bow to her.

Well all in all in busy but really fun day........

Monday Blahs

I have decided that I am taking a break from squares.......which I have been working on for a month now.....with the CAL starting soon, I thought it was best I take a break from them, so I am not ready to throw out anything that resembles a square. I really need to get busy with some Amigurumi. I made this cute little bunny that Caroline designed...if you click the picture it will take you to her blog and the pattern. I forgot to take a picture of his cute tail.........maybe I will remember tomorrow. He worked up in about 15 minutes.........I used a thin white yarn I had from sooo long ago.......not sure what the yarn is, but it is thin..........and I used an "E" hook........I also started another bunny, and I finished the body, but will finish him tomorrow, too tired now to do it.

Today was not too bad, but I woke up really sore from all the cleaning I did Sunday, and I still have cleaning to do. I decided to not clean today.........I didn't get much accomplished at all today, but that is ok........I did manage to make it to the gym......but I started out on the bike, and the stupid seat kept rocking a bit, so that hurt my back, after 10 minutes could not take it anymore, and did about 15 minutes or so on the treadmill, then a few of the weight machines.........I was sore, tired, and sweaty....time to go home............I gave Aiden a bath early, and woohoo both boys fell asleep before their bedtime!!!

I just relaxed and watched some tv, and didn't pick up a hook at all today except for tonight, about an hour ago is when I finally picked my hook up and made the little bunny above and started another pattern. Will post pictures of that tomorrow.

AJ had a good day back to school, or so he said, I will ask him everyday he comes home from school......"how was school?"........"Fine" "What did you do?" "same ol stuff"..........lol........well I try!!!!

Weather is getting nice, but we may get some rain later this week, so tomorrow I am going to try to take Aiden to the park.

Crochet a long Monday!

I am starting a CAL in one of my groups, it will be the 63 Easy pattern Stitches to crochet, to make an heirloom afghan.

I have had this book for awhile now.....but never really got around to starting it, tried a few times, but didn't finish.......this time I would like to......in my group we have a cut off date of 12-01-2010, some will be doing more squares a week than others, but the fun is doing it together and seeing the progress. You don't have to join my group to join in.......I will post on Monday's the progress of this

Woohoo an Update

Aj finally went and got his hair cut..this was right afterwards, I think he looks handsome and much better now

I don't remember why Aiden had been crying....but I had to snap a picture, was hoping it would cheer him up
