~Size: 9” Hook: H/5.0mm Yarn: Cotton yarn in 2 colors: Ex 1: I used Yellow (A) and Brown (B). Example 2: I used Red (A) and White (B):Totals: 1.0oz each color.

Ch=Chain Slst=Slip Stitch Sp(s)=Spaces           St(s)=Stitch(es)

Sk=Skip Sc=Single Crochet Dc=Double Crochet   _______________________________________________________________         

~Notes: Join: W/slst in beg st. Ex A:  2 colors, changing w/each row.  If you don’t want to cut yarn after each row, then simply carry the unused yarn with you as you work over the row, as you will need that color at the other end. 

Example 1: Change colors after each round. (Picture on Left)


Row 1: W/A, Ch30, sc in 2nd ch from hook and next 28 sts.  Ch1, turn. (29sc)


Row 2: Sc in first 2sts, (ch2, sk 1 st, sc)13x.  Sc in last st switching to B on last step, ch1, turn.  See Notes.  (16sc, 13-ch2)


Row 3: Sc in first 2sts, (dc behind ch, in skipped st of previous row, sc)13x.  Sc in last st, switching to A on last step, ch1, turn.  (16sc, 13dc)

Row 4: Sc in first st, (ch2, sk 1 st, sc)14x, Sc in last st switching to B on last step, ch1, turn.  (15sc, 14-ch2)


Row 5: Sc in first st, (dc behind ch, in skipped st of previous row, sc)14x, switching to A on last step Ch1, turn. (15sc, 14dc)


Rows 6-29: Repeat Rows 2-5, 6x. Fasten off after row 29.

Rnd 30: W/A and right side facing, join w/slst in upper right corner of dishcloth, ch1, 3sc in same st.  Sc evenly around dishcloth working 3sc in each corner, join to first sc, fasten off and weave in ends.

Alternate Waves: Example 2:  uses two color, one for every 2 rows.  After you change colors, you can drop the previous color and leave it there, as you will pick it back up on that end.  You will crochet around the piece at the end, and that will hide the color ends.  A=Red and B=White


Row 1: W/A, Ch30, sc in 2nd ch from hook and next 28 sts.  Ch1, turn. (29sc)


Row 2: Sc in first 2sts, (ch2, sk 1 st, sc)13x.  Sc in last st switching to B on last step, drop A and leave it here, ch1, turn (16sc, 13-ch2)


Row 3: Sc in first 2sts, (dc behind ch, in skipped st of previous row, sc)13x.  Sc in last st, ch1, turn.  (16sc, 13dc)


Row 4: Sc in first st, (ch2, sk 1 st, sc)14x, pick up A on last step of last sc, drop B, ch1, turn.  (15sc, 14-ch2)


Row 5: Sc in first st, (dc behind ch, in skipped st of previous row, sc)14x.  Ch1, turn. (15sc, 14dc)
