12” Square with “I” hook and WW yarn. I used Red heart. 

Abbreviations: CL=Cluster. FPDC=Front Post Double Crochet. BPDC=Back Post Double Crochet. BPSC=Back Post Single Crochet

SPECIAL STITCHES & NOTES: ~BEG CL CORNER: Ch2 and keeping last loop of each dc on hook, 2 dc in st or sp indicated; YO and draw through all 3 loops on hook. Ch2, then work a Cluster in same st.  ~CLUSTER St (CL): Keeping last loop of each dc on hook, 3 dc in st or sp indicated; YO and draw through all 4 loops on hook.  NOTES: IN round 7 when you do the TC sts,  make sure you work the 2nd TC in front of the 1st tc you did.   CH1 SPACES: These are the spaces between the cluster sts, they won’t look much like a ch1 sp, but they are there.

Rnd 1: Ch4, work 11DC in 4th ch fr hook.  Join. (12dc)

Rnd 2: Ch3, DC in same st.  2DC in each st around.  Join with a sl st around post of beg ch3.  (24dc)

Rnd 3: Ch3  *BPDC around next dc, FPDC around next dc* repeat around ending with a BPDC.  Join in top of ch3.  (24dc)

Rnd 4: Ch2 and keeping last loop of each dc on hook, 2 dc in same st as joining. YO and draw through all 3 loops on hook.  [Ch1, skip a st (CL, Ch2, CL) in next st. Ch1, skip a st, CL in next st.]5Xs. Ch1, skip a st, (CL, Ch2, CL) in next st.  Ch1, sl st in top of next cl. (18cl, 12ch1, 6ch2) 

Rnd 5: Sl st in ch1 sp and Ch3 (3DC). [+Ch1, sc in ch2 sp, (ch1, 4DC in ch1 sp+)twice.]5Xs.  Ch1, SC in ch2 sp, Ch1, 4DC in last ch1 sp.  Join with a sl st around post of 1st ch3.

Rnd 6: Ch3,  FPDC in 3sts, [+SC in next ch1 sp, SC in sc, SC in ch1 sp,+  FPDC in 4sts, Ch1, FPDC in 4sts.]5Xs. Repeat between ++ once. FPDC around last 4sts. Ch1, Join. (48dc, 21sc, 6ch1)

Rnd 7:  Ch1, BPSC around the same st as joining. Ch2, BPDC around 3sts.  [+2TC around post of sc 2 rows below,*see notes.  BPDC in 8sts+]5Xs Repeat between ++ once.  BPDC around last 4sts. Join in top of beg ch2.  (48dc, 12tc)

Rnd 8: Beg a CL Corner *see special sts.  [+DC in 4sts, SC in 6sts, DC in 4sts.+  (CL, ch2, CL) in next st.]3Xs Repeat between ++ once and join in top of beg cl. (32dc, 24sc, 8cl) 

Rnd 9: Sl st into ch2 sp.  BEG a CL Corner.  [+Ch1, CL in top of next cl, Ch1, DC in 4sts, HDC in 6sts, DC in 4sts, Ch1, CL in next cl, Ch1+ (CL, Ch2, CL) in next ch2 sp.]3Xs. Repeat between ++ once and join in top of beg cl. (32dc, 24hdc, 16cl)

Rnd 10: Sl st into ch2sp.  BEG a Cl Corner. [+(Ch1, CL in next cl, Ch1, CL in ch1 sp)twice. Ch1, skip next dc,  DC in 12sts, skip next dc.  (Ch1, CL in next ch1 sp, Ch1, CL in next cl)twice.  Ch1+ (CL, Ch2, CL) in next ch2 sp.]3Xs, Repeat ++ once and join in top of beg cl.  (48dc, 40cl)

Rnd 11: Sl st in to ch2 sp.  BEG a CL Corner. [+(Ch1, skip cl, CL in ch1 sp)5Xs. Ch1, Skip next dc,  DC in 10sts, ch1, skip next dc (CL in next ch1, Ch1)5Xs. Skip next cl+ (CL, Ch2, CL) in next ch2 sp.]3Xs.  Repeat between ++ once and join in top of beg cl. (40dc, 48cl)

Rnd 12: Sl st into ch2 sp.  Ch1 (3SC) in same sp.  [+SC in each cl, ch1 sp, and dc across+ to next corner ch2 sp, in that ch2 sp work 3SC] 3Xs.  Repeat ++ once and join to 1st sc. (148sc)
