12” Square with “H” hook and WW yarn. 

• SPECIAL STS: 2dc Cluster: (Yo, insert hook in same st and pull up a loop, yo and draw through 2 loops, 2xs, Yo and draw through remaining 3 loops. 

3DC Cluster st:  Keeping the last loop from each stitch on hook * YO, insert hook in same stitch, YO, draw yarn through the stitch, YO, draw through 2 loops on hook *, repeat from * to * 2  times. YO, draw yarn through 4 loops on hook.  

• NOTES:  “Sts” means any dc, sc, Top of clusters or ch sps. 

 

Rnd 1: Ch4 and work 11DC in 4th ch from hook.  Join in top of beg ch4. (12 DC)

Rnd 2: CH2, 2DC CL in same st as joining.  [Ch1, 3DC CL in next st.]11Xs. Ch1 & join in top of first cl.  (12 cl, 12 ch1 sp)

Rnd 3: Slst in ch1 sp, Ch2, DC in same sp. (beg 2dccl made) (Ch2, sk next cl and work a 2DC CL in next ch1sp)11Xs.  Ch2, sk next cl & join in top of 1st cl.  (12 cl, 12 ch2 sp)

Rnd 4: Do not chain. (Work 3DC in ch2sp, SLST in top of next cl)11Xs. 3DC in last ch2sp & slst in top of last cl.   (36 dc, 12slst)

Rnd 5: Ch5 (counts as dc & ch2) [+Skip 1dc, BPDC around next dc, ch2, skip 1dc,+ DC in slst, CH2]11Xs. Repeat +to+ once & join in 3rd st of beg ch5. (24dc, 24Ch2sp)

Rnd 6: Slst in ch2sp, Ch2 & do a 2DC CL (this will be a Beg 3dc cl).  (Ch2, skip-1dc, work a 3DC CL in  ch2sp)23Xs .  Ch2, skip-1st & join in top of beg cl.  (24 cl, 24 ch2)

Rnd 7: Ch3 (counts as a st always), “DC, ch2, 2DC” in same cl as joining. Beg Corner made, now & throughout pattern.  [+Ch1, DC in 3sts, SC in 5sts, DC in 3sts.  Ch1+  In next CL do “2DC, ch2, 2DC,  Corner made, Now & throughout pattern.]3X. Repeat +to+ once & join w/ slst in top of beg ch3 for rest of pattern, unless otherwise specified.(40dc, 20sc)

Rnd 8: Slst in ch2 sp & beg corner.  [+ DC in 6sts, Ch1, 3DC CL in next st. (Ch1, skip-1, 3DC CL in next st)2Xs.  Ch1, DC in 6sts.  Corner In next ch2sp ]3Xs.  Repeat +to+ once & join (64dc, 12cl, 16ch1 sp)

Rnd 9: Slst in ch2 sp & beg corner. [DC in 23 sts, corner in ch2 sp.]3Xs. DC last 23sts  & join. (108dc)

Rnd 10: Slst in ch2 sp & beg corner. [+ (Ch1, skip-1st, 2DC CL in next st)13Xs.  Ch1, skip-1,+  Corner in ch2sp.]3Xs.  Repeat +to+ once & join. (16dc, 52cl, 56ch1sps)

Rnd 11: Slst in ch2 sp & beg corner.  [+DC in 2sts, 2DC CL in sp.  (Ch1, skip-cl, 2DC CL in sp)13Xs. DC in 2sts+, Corner in ch2sp] 3Xs  Repeat +to+ once & join. (56cl, 32dc, 52ch1sps)

Rnd 12: Slst in ch2 sp & beg corner. [DC in 35sts, Corner in ch2sp]3Xs.  DC last 35sts & join.  (156dc)
