H” hook and WW Cotton yarn in green or your choice.

• SPECIAL STS/NOTES: FPDC=Front post double crochet is worked around (ar) the post of st indicated.  Change the color and use this for anytime of the year!  

Rnd 1: Ch4, work 7DC in 4th ch from hook.  Join in top of beg ch4.  (8dc)

Round 2: Ch3,  2DC in joining.  [FPDC ar next st.  (3DC) in next st] 3Xs.  FPDC ar last st.  Join in top of beg ch3. (16sts)

Round 3: Ch3,  2DC in same st. DC in 1dc, (3DC) in next dc. [FPDC ar next dc, (3DC) in next dc, DC in 1dc, (3DC) in next dc]3Xs.  FPDC ar last dc & join.  (32dc)

Round 4: Ch3, 2DC in same st.  DC in next 5dc, (3DC) in next dc, [FPDC ar fpdc, (3DC) in next dc, DC in 5dc, (3DC) in next dc] 3Xs. FPDC ar last fpdc & join. (48dc)

Rnd 5: Ch3, 2DC in joining. DC in 9sts, 3DC in next st. [FPDC ar fpdc, 3DC in next, DC in 9sts, 3DC in next]3Xs.  FPDC ar last fpdc, join.  (64sts)

Rnd 6: Ch3, DC in 14sts. [FPDC ar fpdc, DC in 15sts]3Xs.  FPDC ar last fpdc.  Join. (64sts)

Rnd 7: Slst in next st, [+skip-2sts, 4DC in next 2sts. Skip-1st, slst in next st, skip-1st, 4DC in next 2sts.  Skip-2sts+.  Slst in 5sts]3Xs.  Repeat +to+ once.  Slst in 2sts, slst in next slst, (above fpdc).
