DOUBLE GOBBLE MICROWAVE PINCHERS

 “Double Gobble Microwave Mitts”

Size: 8”L X 3-½”W using, Hook: G/4.5mm, Yarn: Peaches N Cream: A: Brown, B: Fall variegated or 1-3 fall colors.  Additional Materials: 8 st markers (I used bobby pins), felt in red and yellow.  Small amount of black for eyes, or googly eyes *NO turkey was hurt in the making of this pattern.  ______________________________________________________________ Notes:  Bold print: Repeated in pattern. Sts: Work in next st/chsp. Base: W/A, 

Rnd 1: Ch16, 4dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 11chs, 5dc in last ch, working on opposite side of ch, dc in next 11chs, join in first st.  (32dc)

Rnd 2: Ch3, fpdc in same st.  (Dc, fpdc in next st)4x. [ (Dc in next st, fpdc in next st)5x, dc in next st]. (Dc, fpdc in next st)5x.  Repeat [ ] once, join to ch3.  (42dc)

Rnd 3: Ch3, fpdc in same st.  [Dc in next st, (dc, fpdc in next st)]4x, dc in next st.  *(Fpdc in next st, dc in next st)5x, fpdc in next st.*  (Dc, fpdc in next st),  [Dc in next dc, (dc, fpdc in next st)]4x, dc in next st.  Repeat *to* once, join to ch3 (52dc)

Rnd 4: Ch1, sc in same st, sc in next 3sts, mark this st, sc in next 10sts, mark this st, sc in next 16sts, mark this st, sc in next 10sts, mark this st, sc in last 12sts.  Join.  (52dc)  Fasten off & weave in ends.  

Top Circles (make 2) W/A, 

Rnd 1: Ch4, work 9dc in 4th ch from hook, join.  (10dc)

Rnd 2: Ch3, fpdc in same st.  (Dc,fpdc in ea st) around.  Join.  (20dc)

Rnd 3: Ch3, fpdc in same st.  [Dc in next st, (dc, fpdc in next st)] Repeat around ending w/dc in last st, join.  (30dc)

Rnd 4: Ch1, sc in same st, sc in next 10sts, mark this st, sc in next 10sts, mark this st, sc in last 9sts, join.  (30sc) Fasten off & weave in ends

Assembly:  W/base right side up, take one circles and match marked sts, use circle marker to replace the base markers making sure to keep same sts marked. 

  

For rnd 5, you will want to carry your yarn with you when changing if you do not want to use multiple balls. 

Rnd 5: W/A, join w/slst in top right st that is directly after marked st,  working in both pieces, ch1, sc in same st & next 5sts, sc in the next 3 sts of the base, sc in the next 6sts of both pieces, pulling through B on last st.  *(Sc in next st, (both pieces), fpdc in dc of circle)10x, sc in next st, pulling through A.* Sc in next 6sts of both pieces, sc in next 3sts of base, sc in next 6sts of both pieces, pulling through B on last st, repeat *to* once more, join.  Fasten off & weave in ends.  (52sts)

Row 6: W/B & Wrong side facing you, join w/sc in first sc.  (Ch3, sk 1 st, sc in next st)10x, ch1, turn (11sc, 10lps)

 

This row is worked behind the ch3 lps

Row 7: (Sc in next skipped st of row 6, ch4)9x, sc in last st, slst into base if you want, fasten off.  (10sc, 9lps)

Repeat Rows 6 & 7 for other side.  

Add facial features.
