Rnd 1: W/A, ch4, 11dc in 4th ch from hook, join.  (12dc)

Rnd 2: Ch3, dc in same st. [ (Dc, fpdc) in next st, 2dc in next st] Repeat around ending 

w/(dc, fpdc) in last st, join.  (24dc)

Rnd 3: Ch3, [Pc in next st, dc in next st, (dc, fpdc) in next st, dc in next st] Repeat around ending w/(dc,fpdc) in last st, join. (24dc, 6pc)

Rnd 4: Ch3, [2dc in next st, dc in 2sts, pc in next st, dc in next st] Repeat around ending w/pc in last st, join. (30dc, 6pc)

*Note:  Fptrc sts will encase the popcorns, there are no skipped stitches. when doing the fpdc in the pc st, it will go around the top of the pc.

Rnd 5: Ch3, [Fptrc in post st of rnd 3 (below & before pc), dc in 4sts, Fptrc in post st of rnd 3 (below & after pc), (dc,fpdc) in pc st, dc in next st] Repeat around ending w/(dc, fpdc) in last pc st, join.  (42dc, 12trc)

Rnd 6: Ch1, sc in same st, sc in 2sts.  [Dc in next st, 3dc in between dc just worked and next dc, dc in next st, sc in 7sts] Repeat around ending w/sc in last 4sts, join.  (30dc, 42sc)

Rnd 7: Ch1, sc in same st, sc in 3sts.  [Dc in next st, 3dc in next st, dc in next st, sc in 9sts] Repeat around ending w/sc in 5sts, join in fl.  (30dc, 54sc)

Rnd 8: Ch1, sc in same st, Working in flo, sc around, join in the back lp of first sc.  (84sc)

Rnd 9: Slst in next 2bls, ch1, sc in same lp. Sc in 4lps, pm, sc in 5lps. [sc dec 2x, sc in 10lps] Repeat around, ending w/sc dec 2x,  (you might have issue seeing the last 2lps, just make do as best you can) join.  (72sc) Fasten off color A. 

Rnd 10:  Join B in marked st, ch1, sc in same st, sc in 2sts.  [Hdc in 2sts, dc in 3sts, hdc in 2sts, sc in next 5sts]Repeat around ending w/sc in last 2sts, join.  (72sts total)

Rnd 11: Ch2, (counts as a st), hdc in 2sts, dc in next st, [(2dc, ch1, 2dc), corner made in next st.  Dc in next st, hdc in 15sts, dc in next st] Repeat around ending w/hdc in last 12sts, join. (24dc, 60hdc)

Rnd 12: Ch3, (counts as a st), dc in 5sts.  [(2dc, ch1, 2dc) in chsp.  *Dc in 6sts, hdc in 9sts, dc in 6sts, (2dc, ch1, 2dc) in next chsp.*  Dc in 21sts, (2dc, ch1, 2dc) in chsp.  Repeat *to* once, ending w/dc in last 15sts, join. (58dc, 18hdc)

Rnd 13: Ch3, dc in next st, pc in next st, dc in 5sts.  [*(2dc, ch1, 2dc) in next sp, dc in 5sts, pc in next st, dc in 3sts, pc in next st, dc in 2sts, pc in next st, dc in 2sts, pc in next st* dc in 3sts, pc in next st, dc in 5sts]3x.  Repeat *to* once, dc in last st, join.  (96dc, 20pc)

*Note: Fp sts are done around the top of the pc

Rnd 14: Ch3, dc in next st, fpdc in pc, dc in 7sts.  [(2dc, ch1, 2dc) in next sp, dc in each st across, working a fpdc in each pc] Repeat around, ending w/dc in last st, join. (132sts)

 

Rnd 15: Slst into next st, ch4, (Sk 1 st, dc, ch1)4x, sk 1 st, dc in next st. [*(2dc, ch1, 2dc) in next sp, dc in next st,* (Ch1, sk 1 st, dc in next st)16x] 3x. Repeat *to* once, (ch1, sk 1 st, dc in next st)11x, pull color B thru ch3 with joining.  (84dc)

Rnd 16: Ch1, fpdc in same st, (Trc in skipped st of rnd 15, (working around ch1), fpdc in next dc)4x, trc in skipped st of rnd 15, dc in 3sts.  [(2dc, ch1, 2dc), dc in 3sts, (trc in skipped st of rnd 15, fpdc in next dc)15x, trc in skipped st of rnd 15, dc in 3sts]3x. Mearsure your sq, depending on yarn/hook used, you may need to add a round of sc to your square.
