12" Square with "I" Hook

Special Stitches:

 BEG CORNER: Sl St into Ch-2 space, and work ch-3, dc, ch-2, 2dc. Corner made.

CORNER: Work 2 DC, Ch-2, 2 DC in next Ch2 space.

BACK CROSS STITCH (BCS): Skip next st, dc in next st; working behind last st made, dc in skipped st.

 

Ch 4 and join to form a ring.

Round 1: Ch 3, 14 DC in ring, join. (15)

Round 2: Ch 2, DC 2 stitches together, Ch6, *DC 3 stitches together, Ch6.* Repeat around and join IN top of 1st Star point. (5 Star points)

Round 3: Slip stitch into ch6 space, Ch1, SC in same ch6 space, FPDC in dc 2 rows below (Between 2 star points), 2 SC in same ch6 space. *Ch2, in next ch6 space, work 2 SC, FPDC, 2SC* Repeat around, ending with a  Ch2 and join in 1st ss.

Round 4: Ch3, DC in each stitch around, working 2 dc in first 4 ch2 spaces.  IN last ch2 space, work 3 dc. Join to top of beginning ch3.  (36 DC)

Round 5: Slip stitch into next 3 dc, Ch3, DC, ch2, 2DC in same stitch.  *DC in next 8 dc, Work Corner in next stitch.* Repeat around and join. (48 DC)

Round 6: Beg Corner, *DC in next 3 dc, (Ch1, BCS)3 times. Ch1,  DC in next 3 dc, and work corner. * Repeat around (40 dc, 12 BCS, 16 ch1 spaces)      

Round 7: Beg Corner, *DC in next 5 dc, DC in next ch1 space, (Ch1, skip BCS, DC in ch1 space)3 times. DC in next 5 dc and work Corner* Repeat around and join.  (72 dc, 4 ch2 spaces, 12 ch1 spaces)

Round 8: Beg Corner, * DC in next 2 dc, (Ch1, BCS)2 times, Ch1, DC in next dc, (FPDC, DC in next ch1 space)3 times. FPDC in next dc, DC in next dc, (Ch1, BCS) 2 times.  Ch1, DC in next 2 dc, work Corner* Repeat around and join.

Round 9: Beg Corner, *DC in next 4 dc, DC in ch1 space, (Ch1, skip BCS, DC in ch1 space)2 times. (DC in next dc, FPDC in next fpdc)4 times.  DC in next dc, DC in ch1 space, (Ch1, skip BCS, DC in next ch1 space) 2 times. DC in next 4 dc, work Corner. * Repeat around and join.  (108 dc, 4 ch2 spaces, 16 ch1 spaces.

Round 10: Beg Corner, *DC in next 3dc, Popcorn in next dc, DC in next 2 dc, (FPDC in next dc of rnd 9, DC in ch1 space) 2 times. FPDC in next dc, DC in next 4 dc, Ch1, BCS, Ch1, DC in next 3 dc, FPDC in next,

(DC in ch1 space, FPDC )2 times. DC in next 2 dc, Popcorn in next dc, DC in next 3 dc, work Corner. * Repeat around and join. (124 dc, 4 ch1 spaces, 4 cross stitches, 8 popcorns, and 8 ch1 spaces)

Round 11: Beg Corner, *DC in next 8 dc, (FPDC, DC in next dc) 3 times. DC in next 3 dc, DC in ch1 space, DC in 2 stitches of the BCS, DC in ch1 space, DC in next 3 dc, (FPDC, DC in next dc) 3 times, DC in next 7 and work Corner* Repeat around and join. (164 dc, and 4 ch 2 spaces)
