Size: 6” Square using, Hook: H/5.0mm, Yarn: Worsted Weight Worsted Weight in 2 colors: A & B, if you are wanting to use a 2nd color for your hearts, You will want to change color on the last step of a st before your fpdc sts, and change back to your background color after the last fpdc sts.    ______________________________________________________________ Notes:  Bold print: Repeated in pattern. Sts: Work in next st/chsp. Join: Join W/slst in beg st, unless otherwise stated. ___________________________________________________________ Abbreviations & Stitches Used                     Beg=Beginning Ch=Chain Slst=Slip Stitch Sc=Single Crochet Sp=Spaces Sk=Skip W/=With Dc=Double Crochet St(s)=Stitch(es) Lps=Loops Fpdc=Front Post dc   Hdc=Half double crochet Dec=Decrease           Dfpdc=Double front post double crochet: 2fpdc in next dc, this counts as one st, so when you see to fpdc in next dfpdc, you will work a fpdc around those 2 together.

Rnd 1: Ch4, 7dc in 4th ch from hook, join in top of ch4.  (8dc)

Rnd 2: (Ch3, dc, ch1, 2dc) beg corner made in same st.  [Dfpdc in next st, (2dc, ch1, 2dc) corner made in next st]4x, minus last corner, join.  (24dc)

Rnd 3: Ch3, [Corner in next sp, dc in next dc, dfpdc in next dc, fpdc in next dfpdc *see notes, dfpdc in next st, dc in next st]4x, minus last dc, join.  (44dc)

Rnd 4: Ch3, dc in next dc.  [Corner in next sp, dc in next 2sts,  dfpdc in next dc, fpdc in next dfpdc, fpdc in next st, dfpdc in next dc, dc in next 2sts]4x, minus last 2dc, join.  (60dc)

Rnd 5: Slst in next 2sts, ch1, 3sc in same sp.  [Sc in next 3sts, slst in next dc, sk one st, 6dc in next st, sk one st, slst in next st, sk one st, 6dc in next st, sk one st, slst in next st, sc in next 3sts, 3sc in next sp]4x, minus last 3sc in sp, join.  (48dc,36sc)

Rnd 6: Slst in next st, ch1, 3sc in same st.  [Sc in next 5sts, ch4, sk 6dc, (look behind heart at the middle slip stitch, see the 2 horizontal loops? sc in those lps, sk 6dc, sc in next 5sts, 3sc in next st]4x, minus last 3sc in sp, join.  (56sc)

Rnd 7: Slst in next sc, beg corner. (Sk one st, dc in next 5sts, dc in next 2chs of ch4, (if you want you can catch a dc on the heart hump on 2nd dc into ch), 3dcdec over next 3sts, dc in next 2chs of ch4, (catching a dc from hh), dc in next 5sts, sk one st, corner in next st]4x, minus last corner, join.  (80dc, 4dec) Fasten off.
