Rnd 2: Ch3, 2dc in same st. [*Ch1, sk1, dc in next dc, ch1*, sk1, 3dc in next dc]3x. Repeat *to* once, join. (16dc)
Rnd 3: Ch3, 2dc in same st. [Dc in next dc, 3dc in next dc, ch1, dc in next dc, ch1, sk-sp, 3dc in next dc]4x, minus last 3dc, join. (32dc)
Don’t ch in the beg of this rnd. Joining slst from rnd 3 counts as the 1st slst.
Rnd 4: Sk first st (slst), [4dc in next dc, slst in next dc, 4dc in next dc, sk one st, slst in next sc. Sc in next 3sts, slst in next dc, sk-1st]4x, minus last 2 steps, switch to B w/slst to in the slst you ended rnd 3 with. (32dc, 12sc)
Rnd 5: [Ch4, sc in the 2 horizontal loops behind the slst, ch4, sc in next 3sc,]4x. Slst into ch4sp to join. (16sc,8 ch4sp)
Rnd 6: Ch3, 2dc in same sp. [(2dc, ch1, 2dc) corner made in next sc, 3dc in next sp, dc in next 3sc, 3dc in next sp]4x, minus the last 3dc, join. (52dc)
Measure your sq, if under 5”, use dc, at 5”, use hdc, 5.5”, use sc.
Rnd 7: Ch3, dc in next 4sts. [Corner in next sp, dc in next 13sts]4x, ending w/a dc in last 8sts, join. (68dc)
