Rnd 1: W/A, ch4, 11dc in 4th ch from hook, join in top of beg ch4. (12dc) 

Rnd 2: Ch1, 2sc in same st and each st around, join in blo of 1st sc.  (24sc)

 

Rnd 3: Ch1, sc in blo.  [Sc in flo of next st, sc in blo of next st] Repeat around, join in unused lp below & in front of 1st st.  (24sc)

 

Rnd 4: Ch3, [dc in unused loop in back of your work, dc in the unused loop in front of your work] Repeat around, ending w/a dc in unused lp in back of work, join in blo of ch3.  (24dc) 

Rnd 5: Ch1, 2sc in same blo.  [2sc in the flo of next st, 2sc in the blo of next st] Repeat around, join in unused lp below & in front of 1st. (48sc)

 

Rnd 6: Ch3, dc in same st.  [2Dc in unused lp in the back of your work, 2dc in the unused lp in front of you work] Repeat around, join in bl of ch3.  (48dc)

Rnd 7: Repeat Rnd 3 (48sc)

Rnd 8: (Ch3, dc, ch1, 2dc) beg corner made, in same st.  [ (Dc in unused lp in back of your work, dc in unused lp in front of you work)5x (10dc).  Dc in unused lp in back of you work, (2dc, ch1, 2dc) corner made in unused lp in front of work]4x, minus last corner, join in top of ch3.  (60dc)

Measure sq, determine if you need sc, hdc, or dc.  I had to use dc as mine was 5”

Rnd 9: Slst in next 2sts, beg corner.  [Dc in next 2sts, hdc in next 11sts, dc in next 2sts, corner in next sp]4x, minus last corner, join.  (32dc, 44hdc)
